Are you Hot or Not?

Activity.... Do – Think
This camera detects how much heat you are giving off.
What is the hottest part of your body?
Does your distance from the camera affect your temperature?

The Science Bit
Infra red cameras measure infrared radiation emitted from objects. The infrared camera shows us the temperature at the surface and can be used for finding people lost at night or at sea, or under collapsed buildings and by police to find criminals who are hiding. They can also be used to detect fires, and measure the surface temperature of for instance a building to detect heat loss because of poor insulation.
