Down the Drain

This exhibit compares the amount of water that is used in the home for different activities.

Activity.... Do – Think - Learn
Water is vital to life. Although it is a renewable resource, there are only finite supplies. We can reduce demand by using water more carefully. Here are four ways we use water at home:
  • Shower or bath
  • Garden hose or watering can
  • Rinse with tap or rinse with cup
  • Normal toilet flush or water saver flush
Your challenge is to use as little water as possible.
How much water have you used in total?
Do you think you could have used less water?

The Science Bit
