INTECH Science Centre’s aim is to ensure that all young people have easy access to a wide range of high quality STEM curriculum enhancement and enrichment activities and schemes.
In order to achieve this INTECH Science Centre are here to provide information and guidance on any STEM activities which that school’s wish to undertake. In addition, INTECH Science Centre can provide an environment at the Winchester site, where students can engage with the planetarium and educational material based around the hands-on science exhibits to help schools become involved in both local and national activities.
In addition to this, INTECH Science Centre can help schools to promote STEM subjects and careers though STEM Ambassadors scheme. STEM Ambassadors are volunteers from industry or STEM related careers who volunteers to work with schools and pupils, either on a one-off or a time limited basis.
INTECH Science Centre is the STEMNET contract holder for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and
• can offer advice and guidance to teachers on which schemes may be suitable for them
• can provide details of, or facilitate contact with, the person or organisation best suited to meeting teachers’ specific needs
• may be able to provide further support through access to STEM Ambassadors.
