Case Studies

As a significant employer of scientists and engineers, we have been committed to Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) outreach programmes for many years. Engaging with young people in a variety of STEM activities encourages them to consider careers in science and engineering.

We empower our employees to involve them in education and special leave is available to those staff who wish to volunteer for an activity that benefits the local community. Our commitment to community liaison allows employees to use work time to participate in education projects as Governors, mentors or classroom readers. This is part of the STEM Ambassadors scheme.

“Thales UK employs over 9,000 employees based in more than 50 locations throughout all regions, with a high proportion of staff being involved in science, technology and engineering. As a company, therefore, the themes of youth, technology and education are key for us and Science and Engineering Clubs are an excellent way of enthusing and encouraging our next generation of employees.
